The Kindred Collection marks the beginning of KINRADEN and the foundation of its design language. As the first collection created by the Copenhagen jewellery house, it introduced ideas of connection, material honesty and restraint that continue to shape KINRADEN today. Inspired by the quiet intensity of Emily Dickinson’s poetry, the collection explores kinship and belonging through contemporary fine jewellery.
Designed by architect and founder Sarah Emilie Müllertz, Kindred centres on two familiar forms: the traditional signet ring and the classic diamond. Both are reinterpreted through KINRADEN’s signature Mpingo blackwood, which is cut and polished using techniques associated with precious gemstones.
The collection is crafted in recycled 18K gold and recycled sterling silver, paired with deep black Mpingo from FSC-certified forests. The contrast between precious metal and natural wood has become one of KINRADEN’s most recognisable material expressions.
At the heart of the collection is the KINDRED Ring, conceived as the KINRADEN family ring. Its brilliant-cut Mpingo “diamond” transforms the language of the traditional signet ring into a contemporary expression of connection between people, generations and the natural world. Discover the story behind the KINDRED Ring.
Across rings, earrings and pendants, designs including BRETHREN, WISE TEARS, UNSUSPECTED VIOLETS and ETERNITY continue this dialogue between poetry, symbolism and material.
Kindred remains closely connected to the meaning behind the KINRADEN name: kinship and the relationships that connect us. Explore our design process to discover how material, craftsmanship and form continue to shape KINRADEN fine jewellery.
