JEWELLERY TRENDS FROM VICENZA ORO

Last week, KINRADEN joined jewellers and designers from across the world at Vicenza Oro in Italy, one of the leading international jewellery fairs. The event set the stage for conversations around beauty, value, and responsibility in our industry. Among the many displays of craft and creativity, three trends stood out most clearly to us: the enduring power of 18K gold, the growing importance of sustainable, recycled materials, and the resurgence of colored stones - especially sapphires.

Beauty and Investment

Gold has always balanced beauty with utility, and this year, that balance was strikingly clear. Its classic allure has always been central to fine jewellery, but now it is being highlighted as a form of stability in uncertain times. Beyond fleeting trends, 18K gold is proving once again to be a material that holds both emotional and tangible value.

“What struck me in Vicenza is how much focus there is on gold right now. 18K jewellery is not only seen as timeless and beautiful, but also as a safe investment people feel confident about.” - Sarah Emilie Müllertz

Towards Sustainability

Alongside beauty and investment, there was a strong shift towards responsibility. More and more, the jewellery industry is recognising the value of reusing its most precious resources. Certifications, traceability, and transparency are becoming standard topics in conversations about design and production.

“I also noticed a real shift towards recycled materials. There’s a growing awareness that our industry holds such precious resources that can be reused again and again. Certifications and transparency are becoming part of the conversation everywhere.” -  Sarah Emilie Müllertz

The Return of Coloured Stones

Sapphires were one of the clear highlights of the fair. Whether in soft tones or intense, saturated blues, they add a richness that feels both modern and timeless. Far from uniform, sapphires offer endless variation, making each piece personal and unique.

“And then, of course, coloured stones. They caught my eye all over the fair. Sapphires especially - in so many different shades - are clearly making their way back as something people are drawn to.” - Sarah Emilie Müllertz

Vicenza Oro 2025 revealed a jewellery world in transition - one that values gold as a timeless investment, rediscovers the poetry of coloured stones, and embraces recycled materials as a path toward a more responsible future. At KINRADEN, these currents resonate deeply with our own vision: creating jewellery that endures, inspires, and respects the earth.
