Breathing Space By Prudence Davis

At KINRADEN, our universe extends beyond jewellery. It is shaped by the people, practices, and perspectives that remind us how to live with greater care - for ourselves, for each other, and for the world around us. Our journal is a space for these voices.

We are delighted to include Prudence Davis in this conversation. Her work speaks to the same values that guide KINRADEN: a belief in balance over excess, in sustainability as a way of living, and in beauty that begins from within. Through breath, ritual, and presence, Prudence offers a gentle reminder of what it means to slow down - and why that matters.

Introducing Prudence Davis

Prudence’s work is rooted in the healing power of breath and the belief that wellbeing is something we return to, again and again. Through A Space to Breathe, she creates sensory-led experiences that invite stillness, presence, and reconnection - guided by both science and intuition. Ritual becomes part of everyday life, offering moments of calm and clarity in a fast-moving world.

Across fashion, beauty, and media, Prudence brings a thoughtful and grounded approach to wellbeing - one that honours aesthetics without losing depth. Whether through her collaborations, her podcast Healthline - Your Hotline to Health, or her own lived rhythm in Copenhagen, her work reflects a life lived with care.

We welcome Prudence into our community with gratitude and warmth, united by shared beliefs in sustainability, balance, and beauty - and in the quiet, transformative power of breath.

A Journey into Presence, Health, and What Truly Lasts by prudence davis

My journey into health did not begin with a plan.
It began with a pause.

For many years, life moved quickly. I was working, building, caring - for my husband through two cancer journeys, for our family, for everything that needed holding. Like so many others, I kept going, until my body gently - and then not so gently - asked me to listen.

What began as curiosity slowly became devotion. To breath. To nervous system regulation. To the quiet intelligence of the body. I came to understand that health is not something we optimise or perfect. It is something we remember.

This understanding became the foundation of my work, and eventually my studio, A Space to Breathe - a place devoted to stillness, embodied presence, and reconnection. It is not a space for performance, but for return. A place where people arrive not to fix themselves, but to soften back into themselves.

I live close by, near Kongens Have in Copenhagen, and my life here is deeply local and deeply full. I share my days with my husband - a programmer working within a charitable foundation - our twin children, and our two cats, who seem to understand rest better than anyone else in the household. Life is rhythmic, sometimes loud, often tender. And it is precisely this everyday complexity that makes breathwork essential.

Where Breath Becomes Intention

Breathing is not just about oxygen. It is about choice. About how we meet stress, transition, responsibility, and love. Conscious breath offers clarity when the mind feels crowded. It teaches us to stay with sensation rather than escape it - a skill that feels increasingly rare, and increasingly necessary.

In my work, breath becomes a quiet companion. It does not demand attention; it invites it. Much like meaningful design or a well-crafted object, its value reveals itself over time. There is a shared language here - between breathwork and craftsmanship - rooted in patience, integrity, and respect for process.

This is also why KINRADEN resonates so deeply with me. Jewellery, at its best, is not decoration. It is intention made tangible. Something chosen with care, worn daily, and allowed to gather meaning through time. KINRADEN’s commitment to responsible materials, longevity, and understated strength mirrors the philosophy I hold in both my personal life and my work.

Health, presence, sustainability - these are not trends. They are practices. They ask us to slow down, to choose well, and to care for what we carry forward.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: when we create space - in our breath, in our homes, and in the objects we surround ourselves with - we create the conditions for something deeper to emerge. Calm. Strength. Clarity. And a life that feels, quietly and profoundly, aligned.

5 pieces of advice for balance and breathing from Prudence Davis

1. Trust Yourself and Your Breath
“You are perfect just as you are… Breathe more - just being is enough.” Allow breath to be your anchor back to presence whenever life feels overwhelming.

2. Find Stillness Before Strength
Before focusing on effort or intensity, give attention to inner calm. True balance begins with quiet - not as a luxury, but as the ground from which all movement grows.

3. Make Breath Your Daily Ritual
Breathwork is not only for special moments - it’s a tool to regulate your nervous system throughout the day. Pausing to breathe deeply reconnects you with clarity and choice.

4. Meet Stress with Awareness, Not Avoidance
When faced with pressure, slow the inhale and lengthen the exhale. This simple shift signals safety to your nervous system and invites presence over reaction.

5. Balance Begins with Self-Kindness
Life’s rhythm - its loudness, its tenderness - is part of what makes breathwork essential. Approaching yourself with compassion, rather than striving for perfection, opens space for deeper wellbeing.

This journal entry is an invitation to slow down and listen - to breath, to body, and to what truly sustains us. Through Prudence Davis’ work and words, we are reminded that wellbeing, like meaningful design, is rooted in presence, care, and continuity. In a fast-moving world, her practice offers a quiet return to balance - and a shared belief that what we nurture with intention can last, deeply and beautifully, over time.

With Love,
KINRADEN
