Yours & Ours: Candace Marie's Nice

Nice is one of those cities that keeps revealing itself. I've been so many times and each visit I find a different corner that feels entirely new, and yet completely familiar. The architecture, the light, the way the color of the buildings changes as the day moves. The people, the food, the warmth of it. It's not a city that demands anything of you. You can simply step outside and let the day take shape on its own. A morning espresso by the water, a wander through the streets, a gallery you stumble into, a sunset you didn't plan for.

Below, discover some of my favourite places in Nice - places I come back to, and places I just discovered but feel completely familiar.

OLD NICE APARTMENTS

This is where my mornings begin. A private residence in Old Nice, right alongside the water. There's something about waking up here, making an espresso, sitting with a book, and just watching the sea. No agenda, just stillness. That's the kind of morning that sets the tone for everything.

PLACE GUYNEMER GARDEN

It's small. It's quiet. Just the right amount of peace before the day opens up. I don't love to over plan. I like to wander with a few places in mind and let the city reveal the rest. This garden is always where that feeling starts. When I wander, I always end up somewhere like this.

GALERIE HARTER

Galerie Harter has been a home for art and objects for 50 years, built on the idea that every piece has a story to tell. That resonates deeply with me. The most beautiful things are the ones that carry meaning beyond what you can see.

PHARE DE NICE

The water always calls me back. The Phare De Nice is one of those places most people walk right past without ever venturing out to see. But the sunset from here is quietly spectacular, underrated in the most beautiful way.

PLAGE DE L'OPERA

The opera beach. Pebbles under your feet. The Mediterranean, right in the heart of the city. An evening walk opposite the opera house. The light fading over the water. Nice at its finest.

Nice has a richness to it that never feels excessive, it just feels like living. That's what keeps bringing me back.
